first friday freebie.

We are very excited to be featuring our dear friend and fellow Etsian, Donna, of as part of this month's "first friday freebie". Donna is the artist and creative force behind "Blue Daisies". Donna's specialty is pincushions and when you visit her etsy shop and see all of the amazing one of a kind pincushions that she handcrafts and meticulously embellishes we are sure that you will agree that she is a true artist in every sense of the word. We feel very fortunate to have acquired one of Donna's unique pincushions and we are offering it as this
month's giveaway.

Last spring Donna participated in another giveaway so if you would like to learn more about Donna and her passion for pincushions then you will want to visit "the sew weekly" and read her interview. We just love this comment from Donna,

"For anyone who is nimble with a thread and needle, a pincushion has huge sentimental value. Every pinhole in them represents all the projects that they helped you with over the years. I think that’s why so many people love them! :)"

The draw will begin today and will end Sunday, January 8th, 2012 at midnight (Pacific StandardTime). The winner will be randomly picked using random.org. on Monday January 9th and they will be contacted the same day by email. Be sure to check back on Monday to see if you are the winner!!

Note: The pincushion is as shown and is from a smoke free, pet friendly environment and we are happy to add that we ship internationally.

  1. Hi! Love your new pattern with the poms! Are you still thinking about a hat pattern to go with the Honeycomb Scarf? A beret would look nice! Thanks! ccmachineknits@yahoo.com

  5. Hi Cheryle,

I actually have a hat pattern just about ready to be released and amazingly enough it's a beret :) I hope you don't hate me as I ended up not using the honeycomb stitch in the hat. I am very happy with the way it worked out though, and I love how it looks with the scarf. I should have a sneak peek up very soon!

  12. Have several of your patterns and they are easy to follow and so cute. Made a couple of the Hanging Storage Pouches for my new grandson's room and they turned out so cute. I love pincushions. Count me in for the drawing.

  14. The hat pattern for the scarf is really pretty and will compliment the scarf....no way to incorporate the stich from the scarf into the hat? Just asking....I'm not a designer so I'm asking an expert! I like all of your patterns and probably will purchase the pom scarf. Thank you!!!! :)
